Department - Self-Defence for the Army, Police and Security Companies (Security Self-Defence)
JJIF - Ju-Jitsu International Federation was established in 1977 as a European Union
of the national Ju-Jitsu federations. Subsequently, in 1986 it was transformed into
an International Federation. At the Federation Congress held on 26th November 2008,
Tomo Borissov - President of the Bulgarian Ju-Jitsu Federation was elected Vice President
of JJIF. The JJIF Board of Directors paid extremely great attention to the further
promotion and mass popularisation of Ju-Jitsu not only as a sport, but also as self-defence
techniques on the various continents. At one of its meetings, the Board of the Directors
took a decision to establish a special department at JJIF to develop the Ju-Jitsu
self-defence techniques, the so-called security self-defence, which can be practically
applied in the in the training and the physical preparation of the officers at the
army, police, security companies, as well as in the self-defence and enhancing the
self-confidence and personal prestige of the children and citizens. As Vice President
of JJIF, Tomo Borissov has been authorized to head the newly established Department
of self-defence for the army, police and security companies.
In 2014, through the activities of the Vice President T. Borisov in Bulgaria continues
to promote JJIF worldwide by honoring individuals. Special honorable ranking black
belts and kimonos of ju-jitsu were given to Pierce Brosnan.
Between the 21-23 of February 2014 in Italy, region Loano, a practical seminar was
organized for special defense for people from the security sector and self-defense
for citizens. The seminar was organized with the support of the Italian Association
of Jiu-Jitsu represented by its president Dario Quenza.
In the period between 6-10 of February in Mexico City, Mexico, with the huge support
of the president of the Mexican federation of ju-jitsu Mr. Adolfo Trejo Castorena
a Pan-american seminar was organized. The basic accent in the seminar was the training
of self-defense for citizens and the special defense for people working in the security
Held at Madrid the International Congress on military operational procedures of
8-10 November 2013 was organized in collaboration with Mr. Jose Maria Benito Garcia
/ Jose Maria Benito Garcia / - Chairman of Human Rights and Police and Military Intervention
Association seminar and practical exercises , which involved instructors from police
and the army .
In the period between 11-17 of August on the summer camp in Bad BlankenBurg Germany
a seminar was organized for special defense, which was especially for the German
police. 35 participators took part in the seminar. The course was held by m.r Eusebio
Sanchez- international instructor from Spain.
During the time of the IWG 2013 in July in Cali, Columbia another official meeting
was held with the involvement of Jacques Rogger, president of the international Olympic
Committee, Ron Froehlich President of the International World Games Association (IWGA),
vice-president of Columbia Angelino Garzon and others.
On the 9th and 10th of February 2013 m.r P.Theodoropolus- president of the JJIF and
Tomo Borissov- vice-president of the JJIF, E. Domagata- general manager of the JJIF,
attented the judo tournament in Paris. The invitation came from the president of
the french judo federation m.r Jean Luke Rouge.
Within the period 28 February - 01March 2015 was held a seminar of self-defense for
all in Italy. The seminar was organized by Mr. Dario Quenza in cooperation with European
Ju Jitsu Federation, The Department of self defense for the army, police, security
companies and the public of JJIF and Italian Ju Jitsu Association. The course was
led by Mr. Tomo Borissov and Antonio Vismara. In the seminar took part all around
50 people from Italy, Slovenia, Spain and Bulgaria
In the period March 20 - 22, 2015 in Tunisia was organized seminar of special self-defense
and public by Presidente de l'Union Maghrebine de Ju jitsu Mrs. Narjes Ben Bouguerra,
the President de la Federation Tunisienne de Judo and Ju Jitsu - M. Iskander Hachicha
and the Department of self defense for the army, police, security companies and public
of JJI, represented by Tomo Borissov. In the seminar took part all around 110 people
from Tunisia and Algeria. The trainings were led by Mr. Borissov.
