Department of self-defence for the army, police, security companies and the public
In October 2010 in Sofia, Bulgaria was signed an intergovernmental agreement between
the Republic of Bulgaria and the Syrian Arab Republic in the field of sport. The
sport Ju-Jitsu was included in the Agreement signed by Svilen Neikov – Minister of
Physical Education and Sport, and General Mowaffak Joumaa – President of the Syrian
General Sports Federation and President of the National Olympic Committee of Syria.
At the signing ceremony were invited the President of the Ju-Jitsu International
Federation – Panagiotis Theodoropoulos, and Tomo Borisov in his capacity of President
of Bulgarian Ju-Jitsu Federation and Vice President of the Ju-Jitsu International
Federation. In the preliminary references to the Agreement was envisaged cooperation
between the two countries and in the field of self-defence for law enforcement bodies
and citizens – under a security self-defence system developed by the Department of
self-defense for the army, police and security companies at the Ju-Jitsu International
Federation. Also, a meeting was held between General Joumaa, Minister Neykov, Panagiotis
Theodoropoulos and Tomo Borisov.
